Environmental statement

Hakatai is committed to environmental conservation and sustainability. We are green-conscious regarding all aspects of our organization, continually striving to make both our products and operations more environmentally sound.

Hakatai is proud to offer the Ashland-e, Calliope and Tivoli series containing recycled glass.  All tile in these series is comprised of between 30 and 70 percent glass from bottles and/or other waste glass that would otherwise have entered the solid waste stream. This waste glass is a mix of approximately 90 percent post-consumer and approximately 10 percent pre-consumer material.

We also offer eight series of SCS-certified products which contain a minimum 98% pre-consumer recycled glass content, generated primarily from the process of window glass production.

Hakatai actively supports groups outside of our organization that foster sustainability and encourage environmental awareness.  Among these are the following:
